OPENING QUESTION: Please take a few moments to review the Mind Map/Concept Map of other folks in your group. Are there relationships that you think are particularly interesting that you don't have on your map?

If so, please add them now.

Are there relationships that you think are strained or partly inaccurate?

Please discuss and *gently* suggest alternatives

LEARNING GOAL: I will continue working on my Mind Map/Concept Map in today's class.

WORDS O' THE DAY:

  • Energy/Heat
  • Food
  • Water
  • Air/Air Pressure
  • Shelter

WORK O' THE DAY

═══════════════════════════

Let us once again imagine life inside a community built underground in a lava tube on Mars.

Notice that the tube itself is not pressurized, so it is at the same near vacuum as the surface.

We started work on a Mind Map/Concept Map of the inter-related systems on Mars last time.

Let's check-in on how that is going so far.

If you missed yesterday's class or you need to start over:

  1. Go To Google Docs
  2. Open a Blank Doc
  3. Click on the Add-ons menu selection at the top of the screen
  4. Select Luicdchart Diagrams
  5. Select Insert Diagram
  6. Click on the "+" sign/Orange Circle
  7. Select a chart type that you DON'T have to pay for (flowchart works VERY well)

Now please work to explore just ONE of those relationships:

For example: You might have a relationship between food and shelter that is something like Food Requires Shelter.

You would then do a wee bit of research online to find out how big a shelter must be built for a certain number of plants.

You might also want to explore HOW the shelter is built...

Let's take about 10 minutes and then I'll call on a few folks to share out.
